Following the public presentation* on 9 October 2019 it was agreed to spend the £24,000 Arts Development funds on the Sutton Benger Arts Festival (BARTS).  It will include Arts, Music, Drama and Dance events that will provide a day’s entertainment in the summer, which would seed support for other ongoing clubs and projects.  Please contact the Clerk if you would like more information or to volunteer to help!

St. Modwen intend to commence works on site under the scope of the Groundworks Planning Permission (LPA ref. 18/03007/FUL) on Monday 7^th October 2019.  This will include the construction of the temporary access granted as part of that permission, before undertaking the groundworks.

Benger Blaze Saturday 9 November 2019

Can you Help?

The Benger Blaze is the main fund raiser for the Village Hall Charity and relies on volunteers to keep the event going.  In particular we need volunteers for:

Friday 8 November 10:00 for turf cutting and fence erection and at 14:30 for bonfire building.

Saturday 9 November 10:00 for Marquee erection, signage and general preparation. At 16:30 we need a number of volunteers for BBQ, Bar and Stewarding (ending at 19:30)

Sunday 10 November: 10:00 for general clearance and turf relaying. Hopefully complete by 13:00. Dog walkers can pick-up debris beforehand if there bring a bag.

Refreshments will be available for volunteers together with an safety equipment.

Temporary Introduction of 40mph Speed Limit

B4122 (Part), Sutton Benger

From: 3 June 2019 for 18 Months

Notice (TTRO 5918) is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to temporarily introduce a 40mph speed restriction on the following length of road:

B4122 (Part), Kington Langley and Sutton Benger; from its junction with A429 M4 Roundabout Junction 17 for a distance of approximately 770 metres in an easterly direction.

 To enable: Winvic Construction Ltd to carry out S278 roadworks and for safe site access.

 The speed limit restriction will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

 This Order will come into operation on 03 June 2019 and will be required for 18 months. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Wiltshire Council – Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Closure of: B4122 (Part),Sutton Benger

25 February 2019 – 6 May 2019

Notice (TTRO 5734) is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: B4122 (Part), Sutton Benger; from footpath 13 for a distance of approximately 150 metres in a northerly direction.

To enable: Ringway to carry out reconstruction of the bridge.

Alternative route: via B4122 (unaffected length) – B4158 – A350 and vice versa.

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs – SEE MAP

This Order will come into operation on 25 February 2019 and the closure will be required until 6 May 2019. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
